The historical Greek supermarket expands its reach through technology, offering  consumers better access to its exceptional products.

The family-owned supermarket chain of Northern Athens, renowned for its unique product variety and exceptional prices, is now available on our mobile devices, serving customers for whom distance was once a barrier.

The Thanopoulos mobile app — available on Android and iOS — combined with the totally redesigned e-shop, marks another step forward in the company's evolution and reaffirms Thanopoulos’ commitment to offering the best possible shopping experience—continuing a journey of trust that began back in 1877.

Designed with great attention to detail and a strong focus on user convenience, the new website and mobile app incorporate a wide range of practical features for smooth and effortless shopping experience. With the goal of replicating the personalized in-store experience our customers enjoy into the digital environment, we leverage the capabilities of artificial intelligence.  This allows the app and e-shop to adapt to individual shopping needs, offering a similar experience online. In this way, every customer remains unique even in the digital environment—receiving  updates on offers or availability of product categories or brands of interest.

At the same time, the platform’s intelligence will continuously evolve, improving the management of more than 21,000 product codes, including weighed and freshly cut items, access to bundled offers and discount campaigns, personalized shopping suggestions and many other innovative functions aimed at offering an unmatched shopping experience.

 For the design and development of the new website and app, Thanopoulos selected the Wave Grocery platform by Desquared. This platform integrates cutting-edge technologies and the developing team’s in-depth expertise in the retail sector, offering a comprehensive ecosystem of e-commerce tools and functionalities specifically designed to meet the high demands and unique needs of the supermarket industry.
